PARKS AND GARDENS

Kiev has a number of parks and gardens that are great for resting with friends, family, or just alone. In the parks one can enjoy beautiful Ukrainian nature, admire the fresh air. People who like exotic plants are welcome to visit the Central Botanical Garden; small children get positive emotions at Kiev Zoo and getting acquainted with funny and cute animals; and if somebody wants  to have fun, he will, probably, find it at Hydropark.

The Botanical Garden of the Ukrainian Academy of Science, maybe the most picturesque garden in Kiev, is also known as the Central Botanical Garden. It was found in 1936. Its total area is about 130 hectares and contains over 13,000 different trees, shrubs, flowers and other plants from all over the world.

	Hyrdopark is a very special place, where the guests can find clean beaches, restaurants, sport grounds, various roller coasters for kids, walking zones and other entertainments of that kind. It also has a unique sport ground under the open air, which is very attractive for people who follow a healthy way of life.

The collection of Kiev Zoo is over 2,000 fauna representatives from all  world regions, including mammals, birds, snakes, fishes and insects. There is also a pair of elephants. About 130 kinds of trees and bushes decorate the zoo territory. It also serves as a research center, where the specialists work on acclimatization of  animals.

Park Slavi, ( Park of Glory) is dedicated to  memory of the heroes who died defending Kiev and Ukrainian lands. Park Slavi is a nice place for a family : it offers quietness and calmness, pleasant views, curved paths and historical monuments.
