9-12 Sept Jazz Festival
Koktebel Jazz Festival (KJF) kicked off in 2003 as an attempt to revive Koktebel’s status as the cultural center of the region, back at its days famous all over the country.
The festival consists of two main stages, which host the festival program, additional stages and numerous jam-sessions. The main stages do not have any entrance fees and are located a the square right near the water, so that the public can sit on the beach during the performance.
The Koktebel Jazz Festival 2010 will take place in Koktebel on September 9-12, chairman of the organizing committee of the 8th festival Lilia Mlynarych said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.
Two stages will operate at the festival: the Voloshynska stage in the garden of the house museum of poet Maksymilian Voloshyn, and the Nujazz stage, The first stage will be opened on September 9, and the second one on September 10.
According to Mlynarych, night, evening, and night concerts will be held on these stages. A closing concert will begin on September 12 at 1300.
Karl Frierson, singer from German band DePhazz and a participant of the festival, said he was happy to come to Ukraine for several years running at the invitation of the organizers to participate in the festival.
